Gender Reveal!!!

The day FINALLY came to know what we were having. I could not wait. The date was scheduled with Dr. Juarez buuuttt Peter and I are VERY impatient. 14 weeks came and Peter and I decided we could not wait the short 4 weeks to find out and we went in for a 3D ultrasound. They got me ready after we paid and BAM...there was our sweet baby! It is such a weird feeling seeing your child for the first time. You immediately feel so much love for the little one inside of you. I also was shocked because at that point I could not feel the baby but there he/she was..just moving around sooo much! It was an experience I will NEVER forget. The Ultrasound tech said that our little baby looked like he/she was looking great and growing nicely. She also said she did not think I would make it to July 28th because already the baby was measuring bigger. The time finally came when she asked Peter and I if we were ready to find out. My heart was beating so fast. Here it was...it was time. We would finally be able to say he or she. My Dad and the girls left the room because I wanted them to find out with everyone else. It was just Peter, my Mom, and myself in the room. The tech went down to see and yes...he was a boy! I could tell right away. There was no mistaking it! It was weird because we thought we were having a girl because I did some pee on a stick tests and they both came out girl and his heart beat was always so high and the old mid wives tale noted he should be a girl...but no...our baby was a boy! Peter said it felt right because all through the Ultrasound for some reason he kept saying "he" and my Mom said watching him felt like watching my brother's Ultrasound.
My little guy is still loves to cuddle^^^ The next morning I went out with my Mom and got his first outfits. Well she got a ton and I bought one. haha It was so much fun and I soon realized boys really do have so much cute stuff too!
The next Saturday, February 16th, was our Gender Reveal. My Mom put sooooo much work into it. Thanks so much Mom...it was perfect! She was the only one besides Peter and I who knew what we were having and she got the cake ordered, invites and anything computer made, and decorations done and I LOVED it! My Aunt Missy from Utah came down for it and helped a lot as well. Thanks everyone who helped and came to support us with our exciting day! It was perfect and I could already tell Finn will be so loved. We ate food, did an Old Wives Tale activity where I told my answers, watched my Ultrasound, and cut the cake! Like I said....PERFECT!!!
The last picture is a shirt from Tav! We also have a video of the reveal on my facebook...check it out! I can't figure out how to load it here. haha Not the best at computers! :S Until next time.... Luv, The Petersens

Telling Tav, Brittin, Belle, and some extended family!

Well...after I told my parents...it seemed like FOREVER until I could tell more people. I kept wanting to talk about the exciting news but knew we had to be quiet. I wanted to wait to tell Brittin and Belle the same time I told Tav. Since Tavin was on his mission...we had only once choice...Christmas Skype call. Peter and I sent Tavin a Christmas package from "Mom and Dad" and told him he was to open it during the Skype call. Well right before Christmas, we found out Tavin never got the package. So we went with Plan B. Christmas morning came and I threw up. haha All my siblings thought I was sick but they would soon find out that was not the case. After we had our traditional Christmas breakfast, Tavin called. It was soooo amazing, like it is every time, to talk to Tavin and to be able to see him as well. I missed that boy sooo much when he was gone. Anyways, we started off the call by all the siblings getting a present. My parents gave us all our presents to open and gave Peter Tavin's to open. Each sibling got a shirt that said, "Awesome sisters get promoted to Aunt" for the girls and, "Awesome brothers get promoted to Uncle" for Tav. Everyone was soooo excited! It made me so happy to share this happy news to my best friends. Belle did not understand right away, A few minutes went by and Tav said something about the baby and Belle then said, "wait...what?", and then she was excited with the rest of us. :) My Nana and Papa was there too so I made them a shirt as well and my Aunt Teena, Uncle Jared, and their family came later that day so I made my Aunt and Uncle a shirt as well so they could join in the fun. It was a perfect day! I love Christmas soooo much! It's my favorite holiday and to be able to tell everyone that day as well was PERFECT! Here is some pictures of the fun....

Telling The Future Nana and Papa

O.K.  These next few blog posts are going to be VERY old because I need to update this blog before I can get to recent stuff.  So sorry!  I never said I would be the best at blogging!   :)

Well...let me just say first...my Mom is a genius and they knew before we even told them.  haha  Still...it was a great experience telling them anyways.

These above pictures are some we took the day after I told Peter and the day I took 3 more tests. haha
Not the best pictures.  We took them with a timer and put our camera on a ladder.  I get spoiled most of the time with my Mom taking our pictures. ;)

Well back to the story of telling my parents.  Peter and I both thought of our own way of telling our parents sooooo when I was thinking about how I wanted to tell my Mom and Dad I found out one of the authors my family has read was coming to Vegas!  My Mom collects signed books and she got me doing that as well.  We have been to many book signings together and it is something we both love to do.  It is like Disneyland for us.  For people who love to read like my family....it is so amazing meeting different people who wrote the books we love.  Anyways, this last Thanksgiving was the Petersen's turn so we stayed in town while my family went to California to spend Thanksgiving with my Aunt Teena and her family.  So while they were still out of town on Saturday, Peter and I went to the book store and got this book...

Lisa Mangum writes "The Hourglass Door" series that we just loved.  This is her new book which I have not read yet.  Anyways, she was super sweet and I was so excited to give this to my parents.  I tell my parents EVERYTHING and it was killing me to have to wait until I got the book to tell them.  When we finally pulled them aside to give them the book....they already guessed it but oh well...it was still so much fun to be able to share the excitement with them!  I fell so blessed that my baby has such amazing people to look up to!  My parents are who made me who I am....at least the good parts...and have been there every step of the way in my life and they continue to still be there every step of the way through my pregnancy!  My last appointment, my Mom could not make it due to car problems and when Dr. Juarez walked in, he looked at Peter and I and said, "wait...just you two?"  haha He loves when my parents come to chat as well.  I am and our baby is soooo lucky to have them live so close!  Love ya Mom and Dad!  Thanks for always being there for me!  I can't wait for our little one to be here and I know when I have to go back to work, I won't have to worry because I know I have the most amazing people there to watch our baby!

Love always,
Your little princess forever (nickname my Dad gave me...he gives all of us a nickname when we are born),

Telling Peter News!

Well it is always a bad sign when I log into my blog and for a second play around with the site looking how to post.....haha  I am bad at this blogging thing but I knew I needed to be better.  With the fact that I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY (I still can't believe it...does not feel real quite yet) I want to make sure I post more so I can remember this time.  I kick myself all the time that I did not document more of our "newlywed" phase.  Oh well....this next phase will be better and I know it will be because I made it a New Year Resolution for me soooo I should follow through.  We will see.

Well I am officially announcing it on my blog....I AM PREGNANT!  :)  Peter and I are so excited already!  We have been waiting for this for awhile now.  I wanted to make sure my brother was home and seeing as we are less than 3 months away ...EHHHHH!!!!...HE WILL BE HOME!  YAY!  We knew we needed to wait until we had insurance.  That was the hardest thing.  We thought it would never work out and after much praying and looking around...we finally got insurance!  So we jumped on the chance to finally be able to start our little family.

November 14th, 2012, we shared our 3 year Anniversary!  It is amazing how fast time as gone and at the same time, I can't imagine my life without Peter!  I always heard it said that they feel more in love as years went on.  When I got married, I did not know how that was possible.  I loved Peter so much!  He was my only star!  Now as I look back on that day...I love Peter even more and continue to love him more everyday!  Well seeing as we knew we were trying to have a baby and are poor college students, we decided we were not going to presents this year.  I should have known better.  I woke up to flowers, my favorite hot chocolate, and a new CD in my car I was excited to get.  It was sweet but seeing as I followed through with what we decided, I hoped it stopped there.  Nope!  While I was at work, one of our receptionists came up to me and asked why I had cans tied to my car.  I told her I did not and she said, "no, you do".  After work, I saw my car.  It had cans tied to the back, windows written on, and the car was filled with rose petals and balloons.  Now I was feeling bad.  Then when I got home, I saw this.....

It was super sweet and I felt bad.  Luckily for me, a few days after our Anniversary, I took a test that would give him the best gift EVER!   November 17th, 2012 was the day I found out the exciting news!  I am not good at keeping secrets from Peter.  I wanted to do something cute and I was thinking of ways to tell him but when I found out the news on my day off and knew I needed to wait to tell Peter until he got home annnndddd he kept calling to talk to me.  Well let's just say....not as cute as I planned but I just could not wait longer. haha  I will plan to do a cute way fro #2. ;)  We decided to set up our tree earlier this year so we could enjoy the Thanksgiving/ Christmas season.  So I tied ribbon around the positive pregnancy test and wrapped it in tissue like all the other ornaments and told Peter I wanted to take a picture of him putting the first ornament on the tree.  Since I am crazy about taking pictures of our life...he did not think anything of it.  Little did he know...the camera was on video.  He did not get it at first but he soon figured it out!

Then we went to Wal Mart for more pregnancy tests to make sure.  The next morning I took some more and ran to wake up Peter and show him.  We were walking on clouds and decided to celebrate with I-Hop breakfast and taking our sweet dog for a walk.  I am so so soooo lucky to have this sweet guy in my life!  I would not be able to do this without him.  He supports me on every decision and is so hard working with doing school and work full time.  On top of that, he makes our little family a priority!  I am so glad I met my best friend to share this great new adventure with!  Love you Peter sooooo much!  Thanks for being my only star!

I will update soon about how we told the fam.  Until next time....

Luv,
The Petersen Family

ONE HAPPY GIRL!

Well I am a bad blogger.  I would love to report that I will be better at blogging...but...let's be honest....it won't happen.  haha  So for now...this blog will be updated every once in a while.  That I can promise.  :)

This late summer brought to Peter's mind nothing but LSAT prep.  My husband has been working, doing his full fall schedule, and studying like mad for his LSAT that he will attempt to take the beginning of October if he feels prepared enough.  So naturally that should put me in the lonely wife category.  Lucky for me, I have my family close by.  Ever since Harry Potter, as I was growing up, my family had a tradition of us reading together.  We would pick a book we felt everyone would like and read.  It is some of my fondest memories.  Well with Peter being gone all the time, we decided to read another book together.  My Mom read the "Tiger's Curse" series, all 4 books, in around 4 days.  So she decided she had to read them with us.  Oh my gosh!  It is an amazing book.  I was totally captured instantly.  I just LOVE it!  My Mom wrote a review on it on our family book blog... http://mytitlewave.blogspot.com/2012/09/tigers-curse.html... here is the link if you want to know more about it.  I 100% agree with her description.  Anyways, if you have not read it.....PLEASE DO!  Well we got through the first book really fast because it was just my Mom and I reading it..Britt already started..and now we are on the 2nd book.

Last night, you probably know because my facebook wall is blown up with last night, my mom found out the author Colleen Houck was going to be signing books.  Everyone at work probably thought I was crazy because at 5:00 I was freaking out wanting to go home.  They asked me what was so important and I responded with, "I am going to a book signing" which was responded with, "oh".  haha  I don't think they understand my love for books.  Everyone that knows me, knows I am obsessed with reading.  When caught in a good book, I always feel bad because that is all I want to do but Peter will just smile and say, "I knew what I was getting into when I married you babe".  haha  So last night at 7:00, I saw her.  She was so funny as she told about her book, her maybe movie on the books, and just any questions people wanted to know.  Not only was she witty and funny, she was so sweet!  She was telling how her books are in different languages and the people of Brazil actually get the most excited about the books (out of her different languages).  Belle asked how to get a book in Portuguese, because of Tavin.  When she found out he is on a mission, she gave us her sister in law's email address and told Mom to tell her sister in law that she has a son on a mission and she will send us a free copy.  Colleen went on a mission too, actually to where the main character Kelsey was from, Oregon.  Explains why she loved it so much.  Anyways, did I convince you to read it?  Great!  :D

Here are some pictures of the night!  All day I was texting Mom counting down.  For a girl who loves to read, like myself, this was like Christmas or going to Disneyland (2 of my favorite things).

All the books out so far...one more to come!

I felt bad for the people after us.  When we started talking about missions, the conversation just flew as she was signing our whole pile of books!  She seriously was soooooo nice!

Yes, my hubby did come to support me! Thanks honey!  ^ He even asked for a picture! ;)  I like how all of our colors matched! Haha
My sweet family!  Ohhhhh how I LOVE reading this book with them!

One other thing that makes me soooooo happy right now is winning the "Ugly backyard contest", as Peter and I call it. I feel so blessed to have the people in my life! I have the best family and friends and I want to say a BIG, "THANKS!!!" for everyone that voted for us to make it possible. For those that don't know, Moon Valley Nursery was doing a contest in which you could upload a picture of your backyard and have people vote on which one they felt needed the most work. Well because of my amazing people in my life, we get $4,000 on our backyard makeover. We are still waiting to hear about the details. On the radio call, Peter said Kevin Wall said that he felt our backyard was really ugly and wanted to know if it was a fake picture. haha Oh great! Pictures and updates will follow. We are actually right now getting our house ready to repaint the outside before yard work. I am so excited and seriously feel so blessed. It is hard to be starving students that can't get any help because, "we make too much money in our jobs" or "we are not diverse enough". Finally help is coming and I could not have done it without you all so THANKS!

Here is the link to hear Peter on the radio!  It is in the 1st hour and right after the opening credits.  Ahhhh I am sooooo excited!  I will keep pictures coming when we get started!  Well that is it for now...I will TRY to update soon!  Until then...

GO USA!!!

So the picture should say it all!  Tonight Peter and I will be supporting TEAM USA in the summer Olympics!  I am seriously so excited and I love when I come to times that...even being married for 3 years....we still have a first as a married couple!  We will be watching tonight...American flag shirts and all!  Pictures to come later.  Hope you all have fun watching.  What are your plans?  Now...without further comments....watch this video of the amazing USA swim team doing "Call Me Maybe".  I am in love!  Can't wait for Peter to get home so he can watch it with me!

Spring Flowers and April Showers

Ok we live in Nevada...the chances of "showers" do not happen much. haha But we do have some really pretty flowers in our yard. I just love this time of year and what makes it even better is Peter was on Spring break this past week so that meant I actually went to bed with my husband! None of the coming home to an empty house and Peter coming home 10:30 or 11:00 at night! This was an amazing week!
The week started how I wish every week could start...with general conference! How blessed we are to live in a time where we can hear words from prophets and apostles and just amazing people who listen to the spirit and tell us what our Heavenly Father wants us to know for our life. Ever feel conference was just for you? Well sorry guys but this time...conference was just for me. :) I love that it just gave me the push to become better at everyday things like prayers, scripture reading, writing letters to Tavin (Sat. conference had a talk that made me feel really guilty that some weeks I miss), my church calling with the amazing YW, and just how we are around family and friends. I feel so happy and uplifted! I hope you all had a great conference weekend just like Peter and I had. Not only that but during conference I feel so much closer to my brother. My brother and I are really close and this mission time has been soooo hard! He will be reaching his 1 year mark soon and when everyone says, "wow, 1 year already", I always think that they are crazy and it feels like he has been gone 2 years already. For that moment during conference though I know he is listening to the same songs and hearing the same messages as we are, even though he is so far away and listening to them at night instead of the morning. I love that feeling!
This week has also brought the cutest cousins ever to visit! Linny, Josh, and Jake are here this week while my Aunt and Uncle and cousins Tanner and Meg are at Youth Conference! It has been a blast! So far we have played games, gone to the park, swam in our heated pool, gone to Chuck E Cheese, watched Hop, ate waffles and so much more. Today we are going to the lake so I need to go but there is my quick update of conference week. Will write soon!

Lot of love,
The Petersens <3

My boys watching Saturday General Conference!

Isn't he sooo cute?!?!

T was CRAZY the morning of Sunday General Conference and was running around like mad and as soon as the 1st song came on....he did this! Love him!

My Mom did these to go along with 2 of my favorite talks! Yes....she is amazing! :)

This is my hubby doing "homework". I told him to get HW done and I would watch a movie with T and this is what happened.

My cousin jake LOVES "her"! He has a girl dog and no matter how many times we say T is a boy...he will always be a, "ohhhh I love her". haha
